vid Court.
I was appointed to the Gold Coast Constabulary in 1886 and held the appointment of Adjutant of the Force during the reorganization of the Military Branch of it.
During my service with the Gold Coast Constabulary I was twice selected to proceed on special Missions to the Interior.
I commanded The Gold Coast Constabulary (a force consisting of 1300 Natives and 12 European Police) from September 1886 to September 1890 and during that time I prepared a scheme for the reorganization of the Civil Police.
I was subsequently appointed to the Cyprus Police Force where I gained further experience in Police duties.
The Straits Roy Police Force consists of 412 of Europeans, Indians and Chinese and I venture to submit that my services with a British Regiment in India and my subsequent service under the Colonial government have given me much experience in dealing with large numbers of Europeans and Natives and a considerable experience in Police matters.
I beg to attach copies of correspondence relating to my services on the West Coast of Africa and trust that His Excellency may be pleased to recommend my application for the favourable consideration of the Secretary of State.
I have the honour to be,
